Maintenance of Systems
Fire Alarm System Annual Service
A fire alarm system must undergo routine maintenance and inspection in compliance with BS 5839-1: 2019 in order to detect and fix any hidden defects and preserve the system's integrity.
A competent individual with specialised understanding of fire detection and alarm systems, sufficient system information, and appropriate access to replacement parts and components should do this periodic examination and testing.

a functional test of each automatic fire detection equipment, such as aspirating systems, automatic heat detectors, automatic smoke detectors, smoke alarms, optical beam detectors, and other devices of a similar nature

Even though this work must be completed annually, the specified tasks may be completed throughout the course of two or more service visits in a calendar year.
Plumis Automist Annual Service
Among the types of work that need to be done each year are the following: BS8458:2015 - Your Water Mist System should be inspected and tested on an Annual Basis.

Check all the components are functioning correctly.

Check to see there have been no modifications to the installation and system.

Ensure all Heads/Nozzles are Clean and Dry

Test the Heat Detectors and Batteries

Recommission the System

Check there are no leaks.
Fire Sprinkler Annual Service
BS9251:2021 - Your sprinkler system should be inspected and tested on an Annual Basis.

Check all the components are functioning correctly.

Check to see there have been no modifications to the installation and system.

Check there are no leaks.

Check the Sprinkler Heads and Sprinkler Covers have not been tampered with or painted over.

Valve sets should be tested to ensure they are working as they should.

Fire Sprinkler Alarm and Batteries should be tested to ensure they are working correctly.

Fire Sprinkler Pump is tested and run to ensure it is working correctly, even if your pump is set to self-test on a weekly basis.
iCO® Water Mist System Annual Service
BS8458:2015 - our Water Mist System should be inspected and tested on an Annual Basis.

Check all the components are functioning correctly.

Check to see there have been no modifications to the installation and system.

Ensure all Heads/Nozzles are Clean and Dry

Test iCO System using iCO maintenance procedure list

Recommission the System

Check there are no leaks.
Maintenance of the System might be a legal requirement in some circumstances.
If you choose not to have your system maintained by BCK Fire Sprinklers Ltd you must
immediately seek alternative arrangements, as not having a maintained
Sprinkler/Water Mist System may invalidate your insurance.
